About Yamunotri
The source of the Yamuna at 3,293 m. Pilgrims cook rice and potatoes in the boiling Surya Kund spring and offer it as prasad. The Divya Shila is worshipped before entering the temple.
How to reach & route tips
By road: Rishikesh → Dehradun → Mussoorie → Barkot → Janki Chatti (approx. 220 km).
Trek: 6 km steep climb from Janki Chatti. Ponies and palkis available; start before 8 AM.
